...and it isn't over just yet. We headed up to the Smokies on Friday to celebrate Emily's 8th birthday with one set of grandparents and Uncle Jack. Ethan and Grandpa hit it off immediately and quickly started playing games. Emily and Uncle Jack found an immediate common interest....Shirley Temple movies. They talked for hours about the Heidi movie.
Saturday found us playing our first round of putt-putt golf and driving the golf course fire truck. As well as some various shopping and eating. I hardly ever shop when I'm at home....but when I get up here....watch out.
Today was the BIG birthday. Emily woke up way too early....but fortunately she had a huge smile on her face!!! We played another round of putt-putt golf at a different location....and ate more food. No shopping today...except at the grocery store for party favors.
After naps and a quick dinner came some yummy cake with ice cream, and gifts, of course! Yes, it is Emily's birthday...but we always have "little sister and brother gifts" for the siblings.
And the grand finale............the Birthday Girl with the gift she has been wanting for so long....the Bitty Baby Twins!!!!!!! It's been a full day but a great day. The girls are not too tired since they had good naps....so now they are camped out in the living room watching Heidi with Uncle Jack and Grandma. It doesn't get much better than this.....and it isn't even my birthday!!!!

I'm so glad you all enjoyed the birthday weekend!
So very glad the day went well. How does it feel to have your oldest be 8? Only 2 years away from double digits! It looks like the kids and grandpa had a great time.
