Fun Times......
We have had company the past few days...so I haven't spent much time on the computer. My sweet niece, Lisa, came for a visit and I had the priviledge of teaching her to sew. She did great and even is thinking of purchasing a sewing machine....my work is done!! Ahh, to teach someone else the joy of sewing....it is priceless!!!
On that note, I am teaching our Smocking Guild meeting tomorrow evening. The "theme" is creative embellishments for children's clothes and I will be teaching them to make my sweet fabric flowers as well as scalloped piping. I have my handouts all ready and am still pulling my kits together. It is going to be fun as always!!! I am finding that I really enjoy teaching....when it is something I really like to do. My background is teaching children....but that is different than teaching adults...I think anyway.
This sweet Wee Care dress, in both pictures, is my most recently finished dress. I love to try out new ideas on these little gowns. On this one, I tried out a bullion bow. Mine did not turn out great...but for my first try...not so bad!!! Do you like to try new things? Or do you stick with the tried and true?? I am always trying new things with sewing. I like the old tried and true things...but I get bored and need to stir things up here and there as well!!! What about you???

Hi Cindy,
I've read your blog for a while now and love seeing your sewing projects. I wish I had a neighbor with your talent that I could bribe in to teaching me to sew better. Your niece is a lucky lady!
Sandy
Sandy...thanks!!! I'd love to help you with your sewing if we were neighbors!!!! If you have any questions just ask and I'll try my best to answer them. Thanks for visiting and leaving me a little note!!!
The little dress is adorable. Isn't it just wonderful to teach another tbe joy of sewing. I think your little bow looks great.
I think I'd try new things if I was more confident at sewing. I'm sooo slooow at it though that the season is usually almost half over before I've finished any of the planned outfits for my girls. :-)
Still, I love seeing your accomplishments. It always leaves me inspired!
Your bullion bow came out very nice! Cute little Wee Care! :)
so cute, I gotta get the tried and true down then I can try new things! lol...
Sunny...thanks!!! Yes, I love sharing the joy of sewing with others!!
Deborah.....thanks!! I know what you mean. This blog keeps me somewhat accountable with my projects...that part is good. But I still want to make more than I am able to at this season of my life.
Cheryl...thanks!!!
Karina...thanks!! Every little bit adds up...meaning you are getting experience everytime you sew. I've been sewing for over 30 years...sometimes I think I should be able to do even more. But my little ones won't be little forever...I often remind myself.
