Emily's Smocked Capri Outfit....
Even though it was kind of chilly here today....Emily decided to wear her recently finished outfit. After I finished Elisabeth's smocked dress she decided she wanted something kind of similar. So I told her I could make her capris with a top instead of a dress. She agreed and even went so far as to draw out her original smocking design for me....in color.
I usually don't care to make two of the same thing....but I really enjoyed this sweet outfit. She has worn it many times....but it has taken me awhile to remember to get a picture. I think it looks great on her. Once again I pleated the front with regular thread and smocked it and then I pleated the back with elastic thread. Worked great....again!
I finished up another project last night so now I am trying to decide what to start next. I still have a stack of fabric waiting....I just can't decide which to work on first. So many decisions.....
Oh, in even more fun news....yesterday at our local heirloom shop, I actually met the sister of one of my blog readers. It was really neat the way it happened. And she is so sweet and has a gorgeous little baby girl!!! Hopefully we can keep in touch and I'm hoping she'll start coming to our Smocking Guild meetings....hint, hint!!!!
