We actually awoke to snow today. Everything was covered and the children (even sweet Ethan) were mesmerized looking out the windows. Instead of bundling up the children to go outside and play in the snow.....I figured I'd let them build snowmen inside. Above is Elisabeth's snowman. She works so well on her craft projects.
And this one is Emily's. After she erected her snowman she decided to give him some snow to frolick in.
But we couldn't stop with snowmen. We read the Bible story about Abraham and Lot and then made this craft about friends, and Jesus being our friend. Elisabeth did all the lacing on the heart. And you can't tell from the picture but the picture of Jesus is in a little pocket cut out in the front heart (there are two hearts laced together). And I know this is crazy....but check out Jesus' face.....Elisabeth almost always blends colors together when she colors. I know, I didn't blend colors together until I was probably in my twenties.....it just seems to come natural to her. She also says that Jesus' hair is not blue....but rather He has something on His head.
Emily and I decided these would make great valentines too. She had hers laced up in under a minute. Her sewing skills are amazing. Oh, and wait until you see what Emily has knit lately. I'll post pictures tomorrow.....hopefully. Let's just say.....it's hard to believe she is only seven. However, she has been knitting for almost three years now.
When Wayne came home from work tonight, he made the mistake of informing us that the children two houses down had built a snowman in their front yard. Suddenly....just like that....all our crafts of the day went out the window and I was no longer the coolest mom ever!

That sounds like a great-warm, cozy way to spend the day. I love the coloring!
