I just finished up another knitting project but I have yet to block it. So, in the meantime, here is a picture of the quilt I made for Ethan. I slightly modified a pattern from the 2005 premier issue of Quilts & More. The magazine is from Better Homes and Gardens and is one of my favorite magazines.
There were several times early on that I almost gave up on this quilt. Seems I could never get the triangles to line up correctly....but I persevered and now I am glad I did. I love this quilt. If you double click on the picture you may be able to make out the border fabric. I found this adorable blue print with little puppy dogs on it. Too cute!!!
And this picture fulfills a request from Grandma P. Here is Emily reading her day by day Bible. Emily and I both desire to read the Bible completely through in one year. Her real Bible is a New King James version and I thought she might get discouraged trying to follow the included daily reading plan. So I encourage her to read either her regular Bible, or this other day to day Bible for early readers. It has approximately 350 pages so she reads one per day. It amazes me how much children can learn at such an early age. Even the other day when a stray comment went flying around the kitchen table, Elisabeth piped up and said...."I saw in my Bible the other day where it said to encourage one another and build each other up." No, she doesn't read that much yet....but she does hear us talking all the time....and it does stick.
I am really enjoying reading a chronological Bible that has the daily readings incorporated into each page. My mother purchased this Bible for me last year and it has been wonderful working through it this month. Now, hopefully, I can stay on track. I always have great intentions...but the follow through is where I am lacking.

i like the quilt and the border fabric u picked. it's so much fun being able to make things for our children.
that is so awesome that emily is remembering the things she read in her bible and learning how God would want us to treat eachother...how awesome!
On the quilt, I think it came out great. Lining up those corners to make the triangles look right is a giant pain. I commend your effort!
On the bible-I feel that if everyone taught their children even the basic of principles from the bible, our world would not be in this condition. Yeah you!!
