This is the first block of the Block of the Month Club at my local quilt store for this coming year. I mentioned before that it wasn't my idea of a pretty quilt....now you can see it for yourself. I like more traditional and classic quilts and fabrics.....but here I am participating anyway. I figure maybe I can learn something new. Actually, I am thinking about utilizing the quilt-as-you-go method....so I can at least try out some new techniques.
And here are my blocks from last years Block of the Month. I need to decide how I want to put them all together and what fabric to use. Guess that means another trip to the quilt store.....
The girls and I ventured into unknown territory last night. We taught ourselves how to use a drop spindle to turn wool roving into yarn. We had so much fun. And strangely enough it was such a soothing activity. The girls each did such a great job spinning the spindle and making the yarn. I was amazed. It is definitely addictive. We may have to get a couple more drop spindles so everyone has their own to work with. Sharing can be hard sometimes....even for the Mom!!! (Pictures to follow in a day or so.)

sounds the like yarn spinning was great fun!
Jennifer,
Yes, it is funny how different people have different likes and dislikes. I guess I like more traditional calico prints. But this is growing on me as time goes on. Seems the majority of people at our quilt shop really like it so I figure it is just me.
lol, well i can't wait to see what it's gonna look like when you're all finished :)
