Several years back for Christmas we asked my parents for an electronic keyboard. They were happy to oblige. In the back of my mind I wondered if it would sit unused for large chunks of time. Well I am amazed to say that several years and a couple children later, that this keyboard is still used EVERY DAY by one, two, or all of our children. Even after bringing a real piano into the house last summer.....they still play the keyboard AND the piano every day. All of our children love music....all types. And they only need to hear one or two notes and they immediately start dancing.
Ethan loves the keyboard so much we had to remove it from it's stand, and put it on the floor, so he could reach the keys. Plus it doesn't hurt that there is a microphone as well. One of his recent favorite things is to "sing" into it. Then after he takes a quick turn he is willing to share the limelight as well. But don't get too long-winded because he always has another song ready to sing.
The other morning, while still in his pjs, he decided to belt out a tune for me and the girls while listening to The Entertainer on the keyboard.
But that wasn't enough....he decided he had to do some fancy footwork as well. Thus the dancing started. This continued for probably 30 minutes or so.
I was lucky I was able to pull myself together enough to get the camera. I was laughing so much I think tears were running down my face. I sure wasn't a morning person before I had children....but their morning sweetness sure makes it a little easier for me.

He sure is a sweet baby. It's fantastic that they love music so much. We have music lovers in our house, but they lean toward guitars. Baby dancing is one of the greatest joys with children. Just watching them trying to control their motions is a riot. Keep up the great pics!
aawwww, that is too adorable!
What a character. 30 minutes! That's quite the attention span for a toddler. I should pull the keyboard out. My one year old likes to stand at the piano, reach up, and play also. It's the real ones they want too, isn't it, not the flashy music toys.
