I finished up this new vest for Ethan night before last. It was a really fast knit since it was knitted in the round from the bottom up. The pattern was ok....but it left a little too much to my imagination and since I'm not a real experienced knitter....that is not always a good thing. I used 100% wool yarn and it is a little scratchy....but he will always have a shirt on underneath.....so it should be alright. I think I will definitely make him a couple more vests....but I'll use a different pattern. I may even use the Debbie Bliss pattern that I used for his v-neck sweater....and just not knit the sleeves but add the ribbing on the arm hole edges instead. I really enjoyed knitting that sweater and it looks great on him.
Hope everyone is having a great first day of the new year. We had a quiet and peaceful weekend. Aside from Wayne running up to the grocery store on Saturday, we haven't been out of the house since Friday. Not sure what this coming week will hold....but Wayne heads back to work tomorrow after many days off for the holidays.....and the girls, Ethan, and I will get back into our general weekday schedules.
I've been working on another knitting project that I am anxious to complete....plus, last week Emily did twist my arm enough to generate more fabric for another jumper. I have yet to even cut the pattern out....but the fabric is washed and ready to go. Hopefully the new year will yield lots of crafting goodness!

Red is really Ethan's color. It brings out the rose in his cheeks. The vest looks like it fits him perfectly. I'm glad you all had a quiet New Year. We always strive for peaceful and laid back holidays.
Missy,
Yes, I think Ethan looks great in red too. The vest actually does fit him well...if only he'd leave it on and not pull at it non-stop!!! But he sure is a sweet boy....so I forgive him.
