Roll and Go

Emily has piano lessons each week. Her teacher likes all of us to be there so that I know what Emily is practicing and can help her out during the week if she has any difficulties. Therefore Elisabeth and Ethan need to be somewhat entertained during the lesson. I have finally found something to keep Elisabeth busy (but I am still working on Ethan.....he currently sits on my lap and wiggles non-stop...oh, and he also sings very loudly while Emily is playing the piano).

One day I thought.....why don't I take a coloring book and crayons.....Ok, truth be known, Wayne really was the one that said that???? At home Elisabeth can sit and color for hours....she has fallen asleep at the table and also on the floor while coloring.
So here is where the crayon roll comes in. Yes, I know she could just carry crayons in a box.....but why....when this crayon roll is so cute and functional???? I think it would make a great, unique gift for a child. I did not use a pattern. Once again, I just grabbed some fabric and started cutting and sewing. If I make more, I will probably do them the same although I have another idea I am working on that is kind of similar. More to come about that another day.
In other news, I finished up a knitting project earlier today and it is now blocking. I am anxious to see how it is received by the recipient......hopefully tomorrow I'll have pictures. Until then, all of the Thanksgiving festivities and food are over....well except for the two partially eaten desserts in my refrigerator. And the girls had a wonderful day playing outside (it was 70 degrees here today!) and setting up ALL the Christmas decorations, including the tree. Life is sweet!!!

that's a cute little idea...and it makes coloring so much more fun to have a cute roll to put your crayong in!

very cute idea! I have a pattern that makes something similar but it also contains the coloring book.

Jennifer and Karina,

Yes, I thought it was cute as well. Heck, it makes me want to color!!! I have seen the patterns with the coloring book option too....I am trying to come with with something similar. Hopefully once I get some of my holiday sewing started I'll be able to work on it. Thanks for both of your sweet comments.
