“Stress is not the enemy in our lives. Paradoxically, it is the key to growth. 🤯 We grow at all levels (emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual) by expending energy beyond our ordinary limits and then recovering. 🤔 To maintain a powerful pulse in our lives, we must learn how to rhythmically spend and renew energy.” ~ Jim Loehr and Tony Schwartz
When I read these sentences a few years ago I was so surprised! And it helped me to see why engaging in things that bring you joy and peace are so important. Those things help you recover and feel refreshed! This whole concept helped me to understand why I have loved working with my hands since I was a young child. Handwork is like meditation for me. It grounds me and makes me a better person. What grounds you???
P.S., Today I pleated a few preemie gowns that I will smock and donate to the local NICU and L&D. Have you ever seen a pleater work?
