It's finished!!! And I am so happy!!! And I think it is so pretty!!! Not that I am patting myself on the back....it's just that Jeannie B. of The Old Fashioned Baby creates such great patterns with wonderful instructions!!! Last fall Jeannie B. posted a day gown sew-a-long. At the time I did not have too much going on so I jumped in, especially when I found out she was encouraging us to stitch the entire gown by hand. I had never done that before and so I thought it would be a great challenge for me. Somewhere about halfway through I got busy with other stuff and put the gown down for a bit. A week or so ago I pulled it out and decided to finish it. And I am so glad I did! I am smitten with this little gown!
I love the neck embroidery and the gathered lace along the neck edge. And I put 5 sweet little mother of pearl buttons on the back and each button has its own hand stitched buttonhole.
I even got inspired last week to add some more stitching along the front bottom. I love the entire thing. It is so delicate and beautiful!!! If I had a dedicated sewing room I think I would hang it on the wall so I could admire it daily. I still might have to find a way to do that!

That turned out beautiful!! I'm so glad you finished it. It will make a lovely gift or keepsake!
Just beautiful! Bravo for pulling out an ol' project and finishing it!
Beautiful! I am so glad you completed and shared it! I think you should find a place where you can often admire and enjoy your lovely work!
B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!
Absolutely stunning! I am so impressed that you did it all by hand! I started on the slip for this set and cut out the pieces for the gown....It is a little UFO at the present time with no hope of going back to it any time soon. Maybe in a few months...
it's gorgeous...i love it in white. i've just done the stitch-a-long - albeit some years later haha my daygown is in blue; i did it over a about 3 weeks since i didn't have to wait for a weekly blog instalment. i blogged about it this week http://www.suziwongcreations.net/?cat=75
Love your work.
