Can I just tell you all I am so thrilled that the warm weather is here. I don't know why, but it makes me want to start a few new projects. Plus, I have several baby gifts that I want to make. So the other day I picked up a few pieces of fabric.
The white fabric on the left looks pretty boring in the picture....but let me tell you that it feels fantastic. It is 100% Japanese Lawn....and it has such a great feel to it. That is destined to become a baby girl outfit. I have a design in my head that I can't wait to translate into fabric. And I think I'll use those two colors of floss for the embroidery. I am thinking I will even do a little crochet on the sleeves and neck. Oh, I am so looking forward to working on this sweet little outfit.
The pink/white gingham on the right is a blended cotton from Nashville Cotton. It is destined to be a sweet little girl day gown. Our Smocking Guild is hosting Claudia Newton in a few weeks and I believe this is going to be the fabric I use for her day gown. I can't wait for her class. I will only attend the morning since Ean is still so young...but even 2-3 hours will be worth it. Plus I will earn Artisan points for SAGA.
I am also working on a few outfits for Ean....I like the fact there are more and more fabrics available for little boy clothes. I am anxious to get a few items finished for him. Such fun!
In other news, the A-Line Ruffled Skort pattern is finished. And I can't tell you how happy it makes me when I see my sweet Elisabeth deciding each day which one she wants to wear. She wears one every single day and they are so stinking cute on her!!!
My girls had their dance recital a week ago and they were so amazing. I know God makes us biased when it comes to our kids....I understand that.....but they were adorable. They were both in the same tap class and then they each were in their own ballet class. And Emily's ballet class had two dances. The theme of the recital was "Deliver Us" and it was incredible. My girls are stalking the mail lady every day waiting for our copy of the DVD to arrive.
Ok, enough for now.....everyone is waiting for me to make a yummy fruit smoothie. I'll be back soon...
Happy Stitching!!!

Oooh, I'm looking forward to see what you make with the luscious fabric!
I received your pattern a few days ago---it looks great, and I hope to make it soon.
Congratulations on the pattern! I know that was a ton of work. You're amazing.

I hope you enjoy your class with Claudia, she is a wonderful teacher. Which artisan series are you in?
Cynthia
Thanks ladies!!!
Cynthia...I am slowly working on the Fine Machine Sewing area. I signed up the weekend before I found out I was pregnant with my now 11 month old. So...I haven't been working too hard on it. I am thinking of doing some correspondence courses that will contribute towards my points too.
