I finished Elisabeth's fall outfit. I know I say this often...but I really think this is one of my absolute favorites. And it looks so cute on Elisabeth...and best of all...she really likes it!!! She wore it all day today. That is always the true test!!!
For the top I used the Children's Corner Lettie pattern. The floral fabric is a nice medium weight cotton and the solid brown is a feather wale corduroy. I wasn't sure about adding the corduroy to the top....but I really like it. I used a little less fabric on the ruffle so it would not be too full. And on the collar, I piped it with the corduroy and used brown broadcloth on the under collar to cut down on bulk. I also used brown thread for the top stitching and the buttonholes. I like the contrast it provides. All in all....I am thrilled with how it turned out!
For the skirt I used the Children's Corner Ainsley pattern. It is a precious A-line skirt that buttons on the sides and has a small amount of elastic inserted in the center back. It is fully lined with a brown broadcloth. And again I covered the buttons. I find I will cover buttons anytime I can get away with it. Sometimes they really just aren't comfortable for my little ones....but they work well on this sweet little outfit.
Has anyone else started any fall sewing???? Do share!!!!

Oh Cindy! It is *sew* sweet. Simply superb work. My, my how I wish my little girl was girly enough for these types of clothes. I love to see your work. Maybe one day I will have a granddaughter that will love this type of clothing.
So cute! I always look forward to seeing the clothes you make for your children!
Very cute! I wish I had grandchildren to sew for . . . but my girls aren't married yet, although they're old enough to be! Someday.
This outfit is precious. I was supposed to have girls for just this reason. ;^) I have two wonderful boys, but neither like anything but jeans & T-shirts. I can hope for g'daughters... but not for many years.
Lovely! I especially like the ruffled cuffs!
SO cute!!! I haven't attempted sewing clothes yet i'm still working on the small stuff
Nice outfit. I wish I had more time to sew...I'm almost caught up with the lists I've got for fall. Maybe once the snow flies!
Thanks ladies for all the sweet comments. I really had a lot of fun with this outfit. For me it is harder to coordinate the colors and designs than the actual construction of the garments. I think this one really came together nicely!!! It truly is one of my absolute favorites!!! I'm glad you all like it as well.
