We had to run into town yesterday and search for more embroidery floss for my smocking projects. I have not run out of periwinkle blue floss yet....but I feel quite certain I will. Funny thing though, at the quilt shop, I searched the racks for the number I needed and sighed a big sigh when I located it. However, the color was completely different.....it was purple, not light blue. So after picking up my block of the month, we raced to the heirloom store since that is where I purchased the original floss. Guess what? They don't have any more and the owner (the one I always deal with) doesn't remember ever having any. Come on people. I pulled the floss out of the same bag that all my cut fabric was in. I know it came from this store. Anyway, I came home and called one of my sweet friends. As she was listening to my disbelief, she quickly looked through her own stash and announced that she actually had the same floss number and it indeed was light blue. And she is so sweet that she said I can have it. What would I do without my wonderful friends????
I must say the smocking is going well and I am actually enjoying myself. Yesterday I picked up some new needles to use for smocking and I really like them.
I do have several projects going....but all of them are large projects. Maybe I'll show some in-progress pictures once I have something worth looking at. Until then, here is Ethan riding the rocking horse. He fights the girls for his turn!

I hate that when people make you feel like a liar. I know you knew where you purchased the floss. You don't normally make mistakes. I have taken to purchasing 1-2 more than I need. If I don't use it, it goes in the stash. It saves me countless trips to town.
As for Mr. Ethan, cowboy, I can't believe how fast he is growing. He looks like a mini man-don't tell Wayne, but he looks like You!
