Warm Blanket and Full Bellies

Emily saw this adorable fleece teddy bear fabric at another one of our favorite heirloom sewing/quilting stores a few weeks back. We left without it, but a week or so later she was still talking about it, so we went back and got 1 1/4 yards to make a blanket. I had lofty ideas of putting a blanket stitch around it or a binding.....however, all Emily wanted was for me to even up the edges on all four sides. So, therefore, I've decided this is the easiest blanket ever. I only had to pull out the rotary cutter, ruler, and mat....snip, snip (or rather roll, roll) and we were all finished. (The edges of fleece do not fray and, as a result, do not have to be finished.) She loves this blanket and I love quick and easy projects!!!

And here are a few pictures for the grandparents that read here as well.

Here is Emily feeding her Baby Alive the actual "Baby Alive" food for the first time. I say actual food because up until now the girls have fed the babies "pretend" food. With the "pretend" food the baby still does all the mouth movements and talking.....just no other "movements" to speak of.

However, last night, in a state of weakness, Wayne and I agreed to let Emily and Elisabeth feed their babies the Baby Alive food. They had a blast and the clean-up wasn't that bad.....just hold the baby over the sink and flush water through her. They may have liked that even better than the feeding part. While feeding her baby, Emily was heard to say...."Wow, feeding a baby is a lot of work." Yes, it is Sweet Love, yes it is. But in the end, it is ALL worth it!!! And I find that the clean-up really isn't that bad either!!!

That looks like a lot of fun. Who volunteers to change the diapers?

lol, they are too cute feeding their babies!!! I use to have a babydoll that ate 'real' food. I could never understand why my mom was reluctant to let me sister and I feed it...now I know!

As for the blanket, it's hard not to get them something like that when they are talking about it a week later. It's sweet she just wanted the edges trimmed up.
