Quilting Goodness

The other night I really did finish up the binding on this quilt. This is the 2005 Block of the Month quilt from my local quilt store. You pay $5 at the beginning of the year and then the second Saturday of every month you pick up your fabric and directions. The following month you have to bring the previous months completed block in, in order to pick up the new one. Then, of course, you have to add more fabric to complete the quilt: sashing, borders, backing, batting, and binding. But all in all.....it's fun!!!

I really like this quilt. The fabics are all reproduction prints and muslin, and the blocks look great. This picture does not really give it justice....but you will get the general idea. This quilt is pretty big....it fits over our entire couch. Wayne took it for a trial run earlier today (a nap) and he said it worked great. Of course, he has a lap quilt that I made him a few years back, but he already seems to be claiming this one as well. Guess that just means I get to keep making more quilts. Next up in the way of quilting is the double Irish chain I've been working on for Emily's bed, plus more Block of the Month quilting.

That quilt looks great. I love block of the month clubs. We usually get the ones from Joann's, but it still takes me more than a year to complete one. I can see why Wayne likes it, it looks like spring. I can only imagine that it feels that way too.
