Run Rooster Run

I found a really neat series of books by Rebekah Wilson called Grandmother's Hope Chest. The first book in the series is called The Running Rooster. Each book tells a story and then introduces a new embroidery stitch with a project. The first one creates a potholder with a rooster on it using a running stitch....hence the title.....The Running Rooster. It only took Emily about a full hour to complete the stitching. She loved it and now wants to make more. We also have the second and third books in the series which we will be utilizing soon. The books can also be purchased with a kit included that provides all the necessary materials for the project. This really makes it easy to pull it out and get started immediately.

Emily has completely several other embroidery designs utilizing the running stitch and her own designs. She has sewn flowers, trees, words, etc. I believe she is working on a few Christmas gifts while using her new found skills.
