She's Learning......

Sometime right before Christmas Emily pieced together this charming little quilt. She used the sewing machine and the 1/4" foot. She did an amazing job. We promptly went to the quilt store and picked a coordinating back piece. However, with all the Christmas festivities, working on it fell through the cracks, so to speak.

As of tonight, we are back on track. We ironed the fabrics and pinned the three layers together. Emily did a great job manipulating the safety pins. She has already decided how she wants to quilt it so we need to make sure we keep the momentum going in the right direction so we can get it finished. She will be so proud of herself.....and of course, I am always proud of her!!!

Awesome! What confidence she is building! It's tragic that so few kids are allowed to even try something like this. She is so blessed!

Thanks for all the lovely comments. Emily is very proud of her quilt top. She can't wait to finish it. Maybe she can work on it some more this week. She is like me in that she could sew all day long!!!
