Today I spent a few minutes cutting out some shorts for Sweet Ean. To make the process a bit faster I took the pattern I drafted for the shorts and cut it out of poster board. Then I was able to quickly trace the pattern onto the fabric with a blue marker or chalk, and then cut them out. I personally find this goes so much quicker. I also do this when I cut out Wee Care gowns. Hopefully tonight I will be able to find a few more minutes to stitch these four little pairs of shorts. As an added bonus, I shopped in my stash pile to find these fabrics.....so technically they will be free...with the exception of the elastic for the waist. Bargain!!!! What are you stitching these days???

Great Idea Cindy,
One question about the wee care. Do you cut out the entire pattern, sleeves and all?? I guess my question really is do you have separate poster board pieces for each part of the wee care gown pattern? Blessings, DArby
What darling little boy fabrics! I love the idea of using poster board. I'm challenging my skills ;o) and sewing up tote bags
Blessings!

I love this idea. Do you mind sharing your pattern?

Darby....I make separate poster board pieces for each pattern piece.
Deborah...Thanks! I am sure your tote bags are adorable. I need to skip over to your blog 'cause I wanted to write you a note anyway!
Brenda,
Thanks! Which pattern are you interested in? The Wee Care gown or the shorts? The shorts I drafted are only size 2 and have an elastic waist and no side seams.
I have some of the blue fabric with the little red wagons, too. It's in the 'to do' pile to make shorts for the grandgirl for this summer. Cute!
