Quick Project......

Seems like all I can get accomplished lately are very quick projects. Like these socks for instance. I find them very addictive. I started making them right before the baby was born. I have acquired quite a few colors of thread as a result of my affection for these socks. My Elisabeth loves these socks and wants a pair in every color imaginable!!! She wears them daily...hers...not these shown above. (One of the above pairs of socks have been smocked and have lace sewn onto the edge.)

One day Emily surprised me. She found the directions I had created and printed out, and then she proceeded to take a pair of her socks and crochet the lace edging on them. I did not even know what she had done until she was finished. Once again...amazing!!!! I'm not sure what I want to do with the directions or the socks I have made. I've been thinking about Etsy...but I'm not sure. I'm not sure if anyone, other than my little girls, like these sweet socks!!! I'll keep thinking on it.

I've always bought lace socks for my girls when they are dressed up. My two older girls are nine and eleven (tomorrow!),and don't really want to wear them anymore but my little one still loves them.

I think they would sell quite well. I love all the colours -- and the smocked ones are so sweet!

I forgot to say: your girls continue to amaze me with their talent! What a beautiful job Emily did!

Ohhh and that sweet little boy in the post below. The larger projects will be possible again, but just enjoy your sweeties for now -- and of course crocheting beautiful lace socks!

I LOVE these socks! My friend made my daughter one pair with crochet and beads hanging from them, but she said they are hard for her to make so I haven't asked for any more pairs ;)

There are a few different ones on Etsy, but I think yours are much more beautiful and I love the colors you have chosen. Very pretty. Your daughter did a wonderful job too!

I stumbled on your blog and have enjoyed reading your posts.

Congratulations on the birth of your son. I had a new daughter back in February. My children's ages 11, 9, twins 7 and then my daughter who is almost 5 months.

Sorry for the rambling ;) just wanted to say good job and I have enjoyed your site.

Those are adorable! I bought pretty socks like that when my daughter was little--one had fake seed pearls another beautiful pair had larger eyelet lace. I'm sure those would sell. My cousin had a lady sew matching dresses for big occasions when her girls were little--she would applique bits of the dress fabric onto sock cuffs and/or turtleneck cuffs [for under winter jumpers]. They were adorable--she did appliques on boys cuffed socks too for the little, bitty guys.

I just realized you have 4 "E" kids~We have 5 Ma kids :D. Madison, Mackenzie, Maxwell, Marissa and Maribeth. I think if we would have just stuck with "M's" it would have been easier especially coming up with so many girl names ;).

If we ever have another boy it will be Matthew, and if we have another girl again it will be a time for hunting for a name.

Have a great evening.

I would be interested in the directions! My Emily has taken up crochet and would love making them for herself and her sisters. Let me know if you decide to market them (or the socks!)

Warmly,
