No more lost needles

I always manage to lose sewing needles in between the times that I need them. Either I put them somewhere that I am sure I will never forget them OR I put them into my pin cushion and they mysteriously disappear *inside* the pin cushion. They stay there all nice and quiet until I for some reason push too hard on the pin cushion and they then find my finger (and that just hurts) !!! So I decided to make a needle case to store my needles in so I can find them instead of them finding me.

One day last week I pulled out this adorable pink sewing notion fabric and just started working on it. I had no pattern....just cut, added some interfacing, sewed it up, turned it, etc. Start to finish it took me about 1 hour....maybe less.
This is my prototype.....therefore I probably will make a few changes next time around. But for now....I think it is cute and better yet...functional! I also added a few pins, a spool of my favorite thread, and a fun topless thimble. This makes it a neat sewing kit as well as a needle case.....double duty. Next up will be a matching pin cushion.

By the way, the children and I made visits to our favorite heirloom sewing store and also the quilting store today. Boy do I have the projects piling up. I need to get a few finished up in the next few days.

That is a really clever idea. I can't tell you how many times I've gone for a needle and can't find one. Then I have to buy more. I just assumed it was needle fairies!

Jennifer,

Thanks, I really like the fabric as well. I went back to the quilt store to get some more and it is all gone....I guess lots of people like it.

Missy,

Glad to know it isn't just my needles that disappear into thin air.
