Cutting Out Small Pattern Pieces.......

Am I the only one that does this?

Sometimes if I have just a few small pattern pieces to cut out, I will put my fabric down on my ironing board with my pattern pieces on top. Then I stick my pins straight through the pattern pieces, my fabric and the ironing board. Then I cut it out...being extra careful not to cut my ironing board cover, of course!!! I know this isn't the smartest thing to do...but sometimes I really like quick and easy!

I don't use many patterns, but I would probably do it too...! I noticed the small flower pot in the picture, is that a pin cusion? if not, it gave me an idea for one. Very cute!

I have to admit, I gave up using scissors to cut out a long time ago. I love using the quilting mat and just a couple of pins and weight to do all the cutting.

That's a great idea Cindy and by the way you have a lovely ironing board cover. I'm just going to have to take the time to make a pretty cover for mine. It will make pressing so much more enjoyable.

Thanks ladies!!! Sometimes I take shortcuts to the extreme.

Amanda...yes that is a pin cushion. I made a bunch of them a few years back. I'll try to dig up the post.
