I Have To Tell You.....

I just have to tell you that my local Smocking Guild (SAGA) Rocks!!!! Our meeting was this past week and we were scheduled to do a hands-on "smocked socks" project. However, I had no idea that everyone had been plotting to surprise me with an incredible baby shower. And surprise me they did!!! And let me just tell you, a baby shower given by sewing and smocking friends is like no other baby shower around. I was blessed with the most amazing heirloom bonnets, bibs, baby outfits, and day gowns. Not to mention machine embroidered burp rags, bibs, and onesies. Gorgeous baby blankets, some with crochet-edges, all crocheted, etc. Amazing!!! And I have to say the food was fantastic too. I have been a part of this wonderful group of ladies for almost two years now. Some of them have been in the guild since I started and others have joined a long the way....but they are all such amazing friends and have big hearts!!! I can't begin to imagine my life without these great ladies in it. Several of them have become my closest friends!!! So what's the moral of this story?? If you are not in a local smocking or sewing guild....run, don't walk, run to find one to join. I have always said that people that sew are the most kind and generous of people. My smocking guild is no exception. They are fantastic and I am so thankful for each and every one of them!!!!

Earlier in the post I mentioned our program was about smocked socks. One day I will compile all my information about smocked socks and get it on here. They are so cute. In the meantime....I've also been putting a crochet-edging on socks. Yes, I should be finishing up a few baby outfits....but the socks just keep calling me. They work up so fast.
