Happy New Year......

I hope you all are enjoying the new year thus far. On New Year's Day we taught Elisabeth how to play battleship....so she and Emily (with Ethan's help, of course) played many intense games over the course of the day. They all had so much fun. It is always good to increase the number of games they can play together. They enjoy board games. Wayne taught Emily how to play chess and monopoly years ago. I guess those will be two new ones for Elisabeth to maybe learn this new year.

And while they have been happily playing games, I have been trying to work on some unfinished projects. I have a goal of completing some this year. I wish I could finish them all before starting something new.....but I'm not sure I have that much discipline. The cross-stitch above is going to be another pillow like one I made a few years back. I started this one right after I finished the last one....it's been sitting in a bag for awhile. Time to finish it up!!! What are you all working on???

I am also attempting to finish a bunch of projects before I begin any new ones. Somewhere I have an unfinished cross stitch project laying too. Hmmm...

I guess I am pretty disciplined about WIPS. I only have one or two projects going at once. It makes me nervous to have too many going. So currently, I am knitting a scarf, and spinning some wool.

Happy New Year.

Take it up a notch! Teach them to play Battleship on big graph paper! Math skill + fun game+ skill gained! Happy New Year!

Deborah...did you unearth your cross-stitch? I used to cross-stitch all the time...now I rarely cross-stitch. I think I am enjoying the "quicker" things at this season in my life.

Kay....you are disciplined!!! I need a dose of that!!! How do you spin your wool? With a wheel or a drop spindle? I am not so good with a drop spindle and sometimes I dream about owning a wheel...but I am not sure I would use it enough.

Hopewell....we have played Valentine's Battle Ship before with graph paper and conversation hearts...they loved it!!!
