Previous Fall Sewing......

Casey of Kc'sRamblings asked me if I could dig up some photos of fall outfits that I have made in the past. Well, tonight I glanced through some photo files and unearthed the following pictures. This first one is still one of my all-time favorites. I really like the combination of colors. The pattern used was Children's Corner Robin's Little Jacket. I actually quilted the fabric before I put the jacket together.

This matching skirt is reversible and I used Pintucks and Petticoats Brooke pattern . The fabric for both the jacket and the skirt is a brushed cotton and very soft.

This little jumper is a pattern from Martha Pullen and the shirt is Children's Corner Lettie. I love this shirt pattern!!! The fabric for the jumper is corduroy and broadcloth for the shirt.

This jumper is Bonnie Blue Holly pattern. The shirt is Lettie again. The fabric is corduroy.

These were the outfits I made my little ones for Christmas last year. The first jumper is Lucy from Children's Corner. The second outfit is Children's Corner Johnny and sports my first attempt at picture smocking. And the last jumper is Children's Corner Libby. I can't tell you how many Lucy and Libby patterns I've made over the past few years. The fabric is corduroy.

Here are some outfits from fall 2006. The overalls are from the Bonnie Blue Hunter pattern that I altered to be long pants rather than shorts. The jumper is Children's Corner Libby. The fabric is corduroy...again!!! When I make jumpers or lined items I enjoy picking a coordinating fabric for the lining. That makes it more fun for me to make and for them to wear!!

And like I said, I could pull up tons more pictures...but this is a good representation of the type of sewing I do in the fall/winter. Do you notice the trend of corduroy??? This is really the only time of year that I allow myself to use corduroy....and I like it, can you tell???? You can also look back in my archives to find more ideas for fall sewing. I just finished up a new fall outfit for Emily and although I did use corduroy....it is not a long jumper!!! I hope to get photos in the next day or so. Until then....happy sewing!!!

Very nice! Thank you for the great ideas! I will now have to go buy a jumper pattern and see what I can do!

Wonderful outfits! I love them all - I also love Lucy and Libby - they are such perfect patterns!

Just this afternoon I was looking at the corduroy fabric at Farmhouse Fabrics - nice stuff! :)

I remember seeing many of these before I had a blog or even knew how to comment. I was inspired already back then!

When you say broadcloth, you mean the broadcloth that comes in array of colours in nice wide selvages? I have enough white to make a dozen white blouses! Maybe I should find a simple pattern and get sewing. The girls could use a couple white blouses each.

Thanks ladies for the kind comments. Deborah...yes, the broadcloth I used was Imperial broadcloth which is a poly/cotton blend. I don't generally care for blends...but it worked well for this little top.
