Sweet Little Boy Outfit......

Let me start by saying there are a lot of benefits of living in the South. However, allergies is not one of them. I grew up in Florida and I never remember having allergy issues......flash forward several years and another Southern state later...and I have allergy issues. And it doesn't help that I dislike taking ANY medicine. I have to take thyroid medicine daily....and I don't even care for that. So the other night when I could not take the itchy throat, stuffy nose, watery eyes, etc anymore......I took a pediatric dose of Benadryl....my first dose ever of that medicine. Within 15 minutes I was in bed half asleep for at least two hours. Crazy!!! But...when the drowsiness wore off I was WIDE awake. So what did I do? I sewed of course!!!
So Sweet Ethan got another adorable little outfit. The current issue of Creative Needle was the inspiration for the sailboat. I had to enlarge mine to fit the front of the overalls as theirs was only on a patch pocket. I like that the sail on the boat is only stitched on down the center of the sail. The edges are left unattached. Cute. And when I was preparing to sew the applique I pulled out my pins to use and then thought....I could use my wonder tape here. So I did. And it worked great. No shifting, moving, or otherwise. Perfect. And I HAD to add the rick rack....it makes perfect water!!! I love the green, blue, and white plaid fabric.....and Ethan loves his new outfit.

I think the outfit came out great. I hate taking medicine too. I took benadryl once, and I was hallucinating! that was too scarey for me. If it's stronger than an aspirin, I don't want it.

What an adorable little outfit! I wish I had sewn stuff like this for my boys when they were little. Sigh. I do have a nephew, though... Great job!

Those little shortalls are adorable! When my guy was little he lived in shortalls and overalls. He's eleven now, so I can't get him to wear them anymore. :-)Unfortunately back then I didn't sew either.

You do beautiful work,Cindy!
